MassBay Wifi

Wireless Access

MassBay maintains three distinct wireless networks across its campuses:

MassBay-Guest is an open access network. Patrons have the same access to MassBay resources as someone off campus. Outbound services like email and such are restricted to prevent them from being abused.

MassBay-Student is the secure wireless student network that allows current students access to the same internal network resources they would have in the computer labs. To access the MassBay-Student network, you must have a MassBay username and passwords to setup your connection.

MassBay-FacStaff is the secure and restricted MassBay employee network. This network allows faculty and staff the same access to MassBay resources they have from their office computers such as file, printer and BayNavigator access.

EDUROAM is a secure wireless network service that allows faculty, staff, and students to use their home institution's wireless credentials to access wireless networks when visiting other EDUROAM participating institutions. EDUROAM eliminates the need for a guest account.

EDUROAM

What is Eduroam?

"Eduroam" is a secure wireless network service that allows faculty, staff, and students to use their home institution's wireless credentials to access wireless networks when visiting other Eduroam participating institutions. Eduroam eliminates the need for a guest account. Our students, faculty, and staff can use that wireless network when visiting participating Eduroam universities. Visitors to or from participating universities can use "Eduroam" wireless network, too. So if your an FSU student taking classes at MassBay or a MassBay Student visiting another school, you can get seamlessly onto wireless.

Eduroam is offered throughout 36 European countries, 6 Asia-Pacific countries, the United States, and Canada.

How does Eduroam work?

Depending on the device you're using, you may be able to select the "eduroam" wireless network and log in using your username and password provided by your home institution. This would be your username@massbay.edu.

example: John Smith - j_smith@massbay.edu
